Hello, my name is Luke and my life dream is to stop poaching world-wide, it’s a tough target but with your help I’m sure I can do it.
My charity is called S.T.P which stands for Stop, the, Poachers.
So far me and my ‘Companions’ (Friends) called Ryan Loosemore,10 and Stuart Hughes,10 have done a 24 mile Cycle, 5 mile run and a Penalty shoot-out for an hour all in aid of WWF, however we are running out of ideas to raise money for possibly the RSPCA or the Cat Protection league.
Why Poachers Do It and how to stop it
Some Poachers illegally murder these animals for food and so they can feed their families.
Rhinos are hunted for their horn so people can use it for medicine even though this medicine does not work so we must put pressure on this trading market seeming as we can’t tell other Countries what to do with their animals.
As for the Poachers that are trying to feed their Families, we must get a good education for them however there aren’t many decent jobs in poor countries/Continents like Africa, so again we need to either put pressure on the poaching market or create more jobs in Africa. Personally I think that we need to put pressure on the market like saying that the Medicine doesn’t work or that even though this Ivory or Skin looks amazing in your house it looks a lot better on the animal. Because the skin and ivory is used as decoration. Ivory is carved into these Elephant figures out of their Tusks.
